The purpose of this website is to make information about the Former Camp Wheeler available to the public.
  Camp Wheeler was a World War I and II military training range. The site encompassed approximately 14,000 acres of Bibb and Twiggs Counties, Georgia.
  The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is working to respond to ordnance contamination at Camp Wheeler remaining in the area from former training activities. The Camp Wheeler project is a part of the Defense Environmental Restoration Program for Formerly Used Defense Sites (DERP-FUDS).
 
   
Current Project:
This project is currently focused in the Redbud Drive and Dogwood Road areas of Twiggs Counties. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers encourages community involvement in this project. You're questions and inputs are welcome.
